What’s wrong with the world I’m living in
Too many bombs not enough playgrounds
What’s wrong with the world I’m living in
Used to be time to do what you want to
But I ain’t giving in and I ain’t giving up
Ain’t giving in and I ain’t giving up
I ain’t rolling over no I ain’t rolling over
I ain’t rolling over ’till I get through
getting through what I want to get through to you
I could tell you in a new York minute
Too many goddam lawyers in it
Used to be a pretty good place
And a smile on your neighbor’s face
‘Till I put some love in my lovin’ cup
What’s wrong with everybody these days
Monkey says jump and the man says how high
Every fool’s got his own opinion
But nobody said I had to put up with
Seem to wear a permanent frown
Don’t want to let the monkeys down
I know this is just one more
This kind of crap on my own front door
I want to see all the children happy
Enjoying a dignified childhood
Everybody helping each other
We’ve got time or so they tell me
Every precious little boy and girl
Growing up in a decent world
We can learn from each mistake
But we don’t have much to waste
